Close to the hotel, sited on the moraine dam between the lake passage to Sava Bohinjka, stands the church of St. John the Baptist, which officially is placed into the beginning of the 14th century, although it was probably built earlier and is considered one of the richest buildings in Bohinj and covers the period from Baroque to romanticism. If you go to the south side of the lake, which connects Ribčev Laz and Ukanc, stands the Church of the Holy Spirit, baroque style built in 1743. At the beginning of the village of Stara Fužina is the Church of Saint Paul, which allegedly appeared in the 13th century and is surrounded by walls.
All three is connecting the external fresco of St. Christopher, the patron of carriage driver-carters, for which people are believed when viewed it brings good luck.
The valley of Bohinj you’ll find the church of St Mary Magdalene in Brod (15th century), Church of Mary’s Assumption in Bitnje, Church of the Holy Ahacija in Nemški Rovt, Church of St. Martin in Srednja Vas, church of St. Margaret in Jereka and Church of St. Nicholas in Bohinjska Bistrica.
Guided tour in the interior of the churches is necessary to book in advance.
