Let’s take you back in time to the heydays of Bohinj before the decline of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
From Bohinjska Bistrica the two-hour journey through the past starts on the steam train whose route runs from Jesenice to Nova Gorica. You will enjoy views of the lake, numerous canyons, gorges and tunnels, the longest Bohinj tunnel of length 6,327 m was built between 1901 and 1906 and view the largest railway stone bridge in the world – Solkan Bridge, with a stone arch of 85 meters.
