Camp facilities

Camp Bohinj is nestled on the shore of Lake Bohinj in village Ukanc. It offers all the facilities you need to enjoy in Bohinj! Camping area covers almost 5 hectares, divided into two zones.

Zone A

Zone A is located at the front end of the campsite, near the lake and with all needed infrastructure such as electricity, toilets, showers, chemical toilet, grey water disposal, fresh water supply, dishwashing stations, launderette, restaurant.

Zone B

Zone B is located in a beautiful forest, which provides much needed shade for tents. It is for tents only; motor vehicles have access only on the road behind the restaurant. Electricity is available but limited to a small area behind the restaurant.

Reception

Reception is open every day. Opening time in high season is 7.00 until 22.00. Opening time in low season depends on the needs of the camp. You can pay in cash or with card.

INFOSHOP is also at the reception. Here you can get information on various activities in the area, weather, hiking trails etc. You can also purchase products for personal hygiene, basic food products (pasta, sauce etc.) or souvenirs.

Defibrillator is accessible 24/7 on the right side of the entrance of the reception.

Storage units are on the side of the reception where you can store your tent and things you do not need for your multiday hike. If you do not have your own padlock, you can get one at the reception in exchange for a deposit. You get your deposit back when you return the key and the padlock to the staff at the reception.

Restaurant is open every day, serving delicious pizzas, grill and salads that you can pair with variety of refreshing drinks of your choice. Payment is possible with cash or card.

In low season, the opening time depends on the needs of the camp. Baked Goods are available at the restaurant.

High season opening hours:

Bar opening hours are from 8.00 until 20.00.

Kitchen is open from 12.00 until 19.30.

Bakery

In high season, you can buy bread rolls, croissants, spreads, snacks, yoghurt
or delicious ice cream in our new and improved bakery, which is open in high season
from, 7.00 – 20.00.

Beach

Nearest beach is right next to zone B. The beach is accessible to everyone, not just guests of Camp Bohinj. It is forbidden to camp on the beach! Because we are located in Triglav National Park, open fire is not allowed. Just a short walking distance away, you can get a refreshing drink or ice cream in our Restaurant and Bakery (high season only).

Playground is nearby the restaurant, so parents can keep an eye out for their children while enjoying their coffee. For those who are brave enough, an adventure awaits in Dragon village, where children can discover their love of heights on a trampoline in the tree tops.

Pets

Pets are welcome and stay for free here at Camp Bohinj. Dogs must be on leash at all times. Owners must clean up after their pets. Behind the camp you can find special dog poo bin.

Dogs can swim in the lake. However, they can’t swim in areas marked as public beaches, which you can see on the map below:

Boathouse

Pac Sports is a wonderful team that operates in the boathouse. Here you can rent out all kinds of equipment to enrich your day or the whole vacation. They rent out:

Boats for a romantic day on the lake,
Canoes to put your ability to collaborate to the test,
Kayaks for a workout that is a little different,
Stand Up Paddle Boards to test your balance,
Bicycles for all of those who’d like to explore the surroundings in environment friendly way,
E-Bicycles for all of those who like a bit of help cycling around.

On top of all that, this awesome team also organizes different activities for our guests and their little ones. You can stretch in morning yoga class at the lake or you can join children’s creative workshop.

Panoramic boat

Enjoy a guided panoramic ride on an electrical boat. This can be not only an exciting and learning experience for children but also an ecological mean of transport to reach the other side of Lake Bohinj. You can find more information on the following link PANORAMIC BOAT.

Showers and toilets

You can find two sanitary buildings at the campsite. They are both operational in peak season. In case one facility is closed for cleaning, you are welcome to use the other one. Water is potable from all taps.

The newly built white building is equipped with the following facilities:

SHOWERS – 8 women’s and 8 men’s showers, 2 of which are family showers.
TOILETS – 7 women’s toilets and 5 men’s toilets, 1 of which is family toilet equipped with changing table, men’s toilets also have 2 pisoars

LAUNDRY FACILITY equipped with two washing machines and two tumble driers. Both accept 3€ in coins. In case you need laundry detergent, you can get one at the reception for 0,5€.

The red building is equipped with the following facilities:

TOILETS – 8 women’s toilets, 5 men’s toilets and 5 men’s pisoars
DISH WASHING STATION behind the men’s showers
LAUNDRY FACILITY equipped with two washing machines and one tumble drier. Both accept 3€ in coins. In case you need laundry detergent, you can get one at the reception for 0,5€.

Dishwashing station

There are three dishwashing stations at the campsite. One is at the front of white sanitary facility, one is behind red sanitary facility and the third is in zone A, close to the reception.

Water is potable from all taps.

Laundry services

Washing machines and tumble dryers are located at the front of the new sanitary building and behind the red sanitary facility. Each cycle for either costs 3€. All machines accept Euro coins and they do not refund the change. In case of any issues, please contact our staff at the reception. If you need laundry detergent, you can buy it at the reception for 0,5€.

Camper service

Camper service station is located in front of the white building, along the road. Here you can empty gray water, refill fresh water, empty and clean chemical toilet. In case you need chemicals for the chemical toilet, you can buy tablets at the reception for 3€ a piece.

Parking/cars next to the tent

Parking area has the capacity of approximately 150 vehicles. Guests can enter the campsite only with appropriate tag, which they receive when they register at the reception.

Internet

Wi-Fi is called Camp without password. Signal is covered in large area of the camp, but the strongest signal is in the area of the restaurant and reception.

Eco friendly campsite

We strive to be eco friendly, not only because we are located in Triglav National Park, but also because we love nature that surrounds us.

We are doing so by recycling our disposals, we clean with eco friendly cleaning supplies and we offer environmentally friendly products at our Shop such as eco friendly bug repellent and sunscreen, which does not affect ecosystem in our beautiful Bohinj lake. We encourage our guests to refill their water bottles with wonderful spring water from our mountains.

With initiative to be even more eco friendly in the future, we managed to obtain Green Key, one of the international ecological certificates.

Recycling

There are two recycling islands in the camp. One is located behind the restaurant and the other one is located next to the reception. We plead the guests to follow the guidelines of recycling in Slovenia. The guidelines are visible on each rubbish bin and are displayed with pictograms.

We recycle as following:

Glass – glasses, empty beverage bottles, empty medicine glass containers, pickle jars.
Paper – newspaper, magazines, notebooks, books, paper bags, cardboard.
Packaging – plastic bottles, tin cans, beverage cans, plastic yogurt cups, Tetra Pak, styrofoam, plastic bags, plastic foil, tin foil.
Biological waste – fruit and vegetable waste, coffee, tea bags, expired food (without the packaging), egg shells, tissues, flowers, grass.
Mixed waste – textile, shoes, ceramics, porcelain, diapers, sanitary pads, tampons, dog poop, etc.

Electricity

You can access electricity through one of the electric boxes, which are evenly spread in zone A. All lockers have 12 SCHUKO outlets and 6 CEE outlets. All outlets have power of 16 A. In zone B, there is one electric locker with 12 SCHUKO outlets.

In case your electric cable is not long enough to access the nearest electric box, you can get one at the reception in exchange for a deposit, provided they are available. Deposit will be refunded in full, when the electric cable is undamaged, folded properly and returned to the staff at the reception.
